Wedding DJ The Barns at Lodge Farm
ShivI & Steve’S all-out fun wedding in nazeing
The Barns at Lodge Farm in Nazeing, Essex is a serious statement venue. A huge rustic barn, high ceilings, wide open floor space, and acoustics that demand proper production if you want it to feel full, loud, and alive.
Shivani and Steve wanted exactly that. A wedding that felt big, joyful, and completely unapologetic about having fun, with Indian flavour running through the day and a full-throttle party once the lights dropped.
The Barns at Lodge Farm Wedding DJ
This is one of the largest wedding spaces in the UK, and it needs to be treated like it. We brought in a full-scale PA system to properly fill the room, plus a lighting rig designed to give depth, movement, and colour across the entire barn rather than just the dancefloor.
AV mattered here. Clean, powerful sound without harshness, and lighting that matched the scale of the space. We also provided daytime support with high-quality wireless microphones for speeches and background music, keeping the energy smooth from start to finish.
Music brief and crowd read
The brief was simple and perfect. Pure, unapologetic fun. No overthinking, no holding back, and a crowd ready to move.
With Shivani’s South Asian background, there was a strong Indian influence in the room, not just in the food but in the energy. The key was reading when to lean into global rhythms, when to drop familiar anthems, and how to pace the night so nothing felt rushed or flat.
Momentum was everything. Early feel-good singalongs, confident tempo lifts, and then letting the room breathe before pushing into full peak-time chaos.
Key moments
The first dance was a stripped-back acoustic version of Still Into You, soft, intimate, and perfectly placed in a massive room that suddenly felt personal. From there, the night opened up quickly.
Genre switches landed cleanly. Pop anthems into throwback dance, singalong moments into hands-up energy, and a crowd that never needed convincing. By late night, the barn was bouncing, with zero drop in intensity.
The closer was a perfect bookend. The original Still Into You came back in its full Paramore glory, emotional, loud, and absolutely earned.
Big Tunes That Worked
Mr. Brightside – The Killers, instant full-room singalong
Yeah! – Usher, peak energy and nonstop movement
Don’t Stop Me Now – Queen, hands up, voices louder than the PA
I Wanna Dance with Somebody – Whitney Houston, universal joy
Shut Up and Dance – Walk the Moon, clean transition into peak time
Curveballs That Worked
Maan Meri Jaan – King, massive reaction and cultural crossover
Temperature – Sean Paul, dancefloor stayed locked in
Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana, unexpected but explosive
Still Into You – Paramore, emotional, perfect closer
Finale
Ending where the night began, but louder, faster, and with the whole room singing. The final track hit, arms went up, and the barn felt completely alive right until the last beat.
A huge room, a brilliant crowd, and a wedding that fully committed to having fun.
