Karen & Chris’s no-holds-barred throwback party

Marden Park Mansion in Woldingham, Surrey is one of those venues that makes you stand up a bit straighter when you roll in. Big stately home energy, loads of character, and a layout that lets a party build properly once the formal bits are done.

Karen and Chris wanted exactly what it sounds like on paper, super fun throwback vibes with no care given to “cool”. That brief is basically a license to go hard on big choruses, unapologetic pop, proper singalongs, and hands-in-the-air 90s and 00s energy, as long as the pacing is right.

The Venue: Marden Park Mansion

Because we are on the suppliers list at Marden Park Mansion, the logistics are always smooth. Load in, timings, and comms with the team are tight, which matters when you are doing all day support from ceremony onwards.

Stately home rooms can be lively acoustically, so the job is controlling clarity, keeping vocals punchy, and making sure the dancefloor feels full rather than boomy. The space here is ideal for momentum mixing, you can start tasteful and warm, then open the taps when the room is ready.

The First Dance

Karen and Chris went with California – Phantom Planet, and it set the tone perfectly. Indie, nostalgic, instantly recognisable, and it tells everyone straight away this is going to be a fun night with zero overthinking.

From there it was about holding that feel, keeping guitars and pop hooks in rotation, then nudging into bigger dance records once the confidence in the room kicks in.

A Genre-Hopping, Floor-Filling Set

Early doors, I kept it friendly and familiar. Soul and Motown warmth to pull people in, then classic pop singalongs as soon as you can see groups starting to form.

Once the dancefloor was moving, the set went properly genre-hopping. Britpop and alt anthems for shouty moments, 80s synth and pop for full-room choruses, then straight into 90s eurodance and cheeky 00s club edits when it was time to stop pretending anyone wanted to sit down.

The best part of this kind of wedding is the lack of hesitation. When the crowd is not trying to be cool, you can take bigger swings and they will meet you there, arms up, lyrics out, no shame, full commitment.

Lighting, Production & Vibes

All day support means everything looks and feels consistent from the first moment, not just when the dancing starts.

  • All day support package from ceremony onwards.

  • Clean, tidy DJ setup that suits a stately home room.

  • Lighting run to lift the room energy as the night progressed, brighter and more dynamic once peak time hit.

Big Tunes That Worked

  • Walking On Sunshine – Katrina & The Waves, instant smiles and straight onto the floor.

  • I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) – Whitney Houston, full volume singing.

  • Girls Just Want to Have Fun – Cyndi Lauper, hands up, no one holding back.

  • Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) – ABBA, proper wedding rocket fuel.

  • Don't Stop Believin' – Journey, peak-time chorus moment.

  • Freed From Desire – Gala big bounce, big chants.

Curveballs That Worked

  • Sit Down – James, a left turn that still hit hard with the shouty crowd.

  • The Passenger – Iggy Pop, cool on paper but it played like a singalong.

  • Paint It, Black – The Rolling Stones, stomp-along energy, loads of shape in the room.

  • Pump Up The Jam – Technotronic, pure throwback, zero resistance.

  • Destination Calabria – Alex Gaudino & Crystal Waters, the room went full holiday mode.

  • The Logical Song – Scooter, pure nonsense, everyone loved it.

Last Song of the Night

Closing with Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen at Marden Park Mansion is always a moment. It is not a “play and leave” track either, you ride it, you let the room do the work, and you finish on that huge, collective scream that makes it feel like the whole wedding has ended in one shared chorus.

Wedding DJ The Barn at Botley Hill

Danielle & Daniel’s Wedding at The Barn at Botley Hill, Surrey

Danielle and Daniel’s July ’25 wedding at The Barn at Botley Hill proved that midweek weddings can absolutely go off. This modern Surrey barn brings big views and an even bigger open-plan interior, and once the sun dipped, it became all about the dancefloor.

From early on, the energy was there. DJ Jon read the room quickly, nudged the pace up with confidence, and by the time the evening session landed it felt like a full-blown weekend party.

The Venue: The Barn at Botley Hill

The Barn at Botley Hill is a large, modern barn space with high ceilings, wide sightlines, and loads of room to build atmosphere. It is a venue that rewards proper production, especially once the room fills and the energy spreads.

Because of the size, subs were essential to give the low end real weight and keep the groove feeling physical on the floor. Extra moving heads and a mirrorball helped pull focus into the centre of the room, tightening the dancefloor and making the space feel more intimate once the lights dropped.

The First Dance

The first dance was I Am Yours – Andy Grammer, simple, warm, and unforced. Danielle and Daniel stayed close, guests gathered in tight, and it set the tone for a night that leaned into feel-good moments rather than formalities.

That track gave a perfect runway into the first uplift, easing people from watching into joining.

A Genre-Hopping, Floor-Filling Set

This was a proper danceathon, especially for a Tuesday. Once momentum was established, the set moved confidently across pop, R&B, dancehall, UK crossover, and pop-punk singalongs.

The key was pacing. Early floor-fillers to lock people in, rhythmic records to keep hips moving, and then big vocal moments to reset the room before pushing again. No long drops, no dead air, just consistent forward motion.

Lighting, Production & Vibes

The lighting and production did a lot of heavy lifting in a space this size.

  • Extra moving heads to create depth and movement across the room

  • Mirrorball to soften the space and pull focus onto the dancefloor

  • Subs to make sure the low end carried properly

  • Balanced sound coverage to keep energy even front to back

Once everything locked in, the room felt full, loud, and alive without ever tipping into chaos.

Big Tunes That Worked

  • Dancing in the Moonlight – Toploader, instant hands up moment

  • Cruel Summer – Taylor Swift, full-volume singalong

  • Mr. Brightside – The Killers, wall-to-wall vocals

  • Promiscuous – Nelly Furtado;Timbaland, peak-time bounce

  • American Boy – Estelle;Kanye West, smooth but relentless groove

  • Hey Ya! – Outkast, chaos in the best way

Curveballs That Worked

  • Pon De Floor – Major Lazer;Vybz Kartel, heavy rhythm switch that locked people in

  • Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) – Shakira;Freshlyground, universal energy lift

  • Hoedown Throwdown – Miley Cyrus, unexpected but huge reaction

  • Teenage Dirtbag – Wheatus, arms-round-shoulders moment

  • No Diggity – Blackstreet;Dr. Dre;Queen Pen, slow groove reset before pushing again

  • Candy – Cameo, funky left turn that kept the floor moving

Last Song of the Night

The night closed on All of Me – John Legend. After hours of high-energy dancing, this brought everyone back together, arms around each other, singing every word. A calm, emotional full stop to a seriously fun midweek party.

WEDDING DJ DICKENS INN, ST KATHERINE'S DOCK

Pop-punk singalong moment at the Dickens Inn wedding party

Wedding DJ Dickens Inn

The Dickens Inn is one of London’s most distinctive wedding venues, a timber-framed, quay-side pub sitting right on the water at St Katharine Docks. For Bekki and Danny’s May wedding, it delivered exactly what it promises, atmosphere from the second guests walk in and a room that begs for a big party.

This was a loud, joyful night with a clear musical identity and a dancefloor that never needed rescuing.

Dickens Inn Wedding DJ

We’re proud to be on the suppliers list at the Dickens Inn and we love being at such an amazing venue. The room is intimate, ceiling height is low, and the energy stays concentrated. Sound-wise, it rewards bold records with strong choruses and punch, rather than anything overly subtle or clubby.

Production for this wedding was carefully tailored. The bride has photo-sensitive epilepsy, so flashing or fast-moving effects were not an option. With this in mind we installed static mood lighting to frame the dancefloor and added a mirrorball for gentle movement and texture. The result was warm, flattering light that still felt special once the room filled up. It’s a good example of how a Dickens Inn Wedding DJ setup can be adapted to individual needs without losing impact.

Music brief and crowd read

The brief was nailed on. Massive alt and pop, pop-punk singalongs, and 00s and 10s fun throughout. No filler, no drifting off into safe background territory.

We started with accessible pop and disco-adjacent records to pull everyone in early. Once the floor was locked, we shifted gears. Guitars came in, tempos lifted, and the room responded immediately. This crowd wanted to shout, jump, and stay there.

Reading the room properly mattered. At the Dickens Inn, once momentum is built, the key is not breaking it. Transitions stayed tight, tempos were grouped, and big vocal moments were allowed to breathe rather than being rushed.

Key moments

The first dance was Yours – Russell Dickerson, a calm, emotional start that suited both the couple and the space. With the mirrorball catching softly overhead, it set the tone before the night opened up.

As the party built, Taylor Swift cuts brought full-room reactions, followed by a pop-punk run that turned the floor into one huge singalong. By the final stretch, there was no edge left in the room. Everyone was in.

The night closed with Angels – Robbie Williams, voices loud, arms in the air, and exactly the right balance of emotion and release for a dockside pub wedding.

Big Tunes That Worked

  • Dancing Queen – ABBA, instant connection across the room

  • Shut Up and Dance – WALK THE MOON, early momentum builder

  • I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) – Whitney Houston, full-floor payoff

  • Uptown Funk (feat. Bruno Mars) – Mark Ronson;Bruno Mars, groove without a dip

  • Mr. Brightside – The Killers, unavoidable and massive

  • Angels – Robbie Williams, perfect end-of-night moment

Curveballs That Worked

  • Sk8er Boi – Avril Lavigne, pop-punk chaos done right

  • I Write Sins Not Tragedies – Panic! At The Disco, wall-to-wall shouting

  • Teenage Dirtbag – Wheatus, arms-round-each-other energy

  • All The Small Things – blink-182, jump-along release

  • You’re the Voice – John Farnham, unexpected but huge

Finale

The dancefloor stayed full right through to the last record. Angels landed with the entire room singing, the dockside outside glowing, and the night ending exactly where it should, on a high.

Wedding DJ The Barns at Lodge Farm

Wedding DJ The Barns at Lodge Farm

ShivI & Steve’S all-out fun wedding in nazeing

The Barns at Lodge Farm in Nazeing, Essex is a serious statement venue. A huge rustic barn, high ceilings, wide open floor space, and acoustics that demand proper production if you want it to feel full, loud, and alive.

Shivani and Steve wanted exactly that. A wedding that felt big, joyful, and completely unapologetic about having fun, with Indian flavour running through the day and a full-throttle party once the lights dropped.

The Barns at Lodge Farm Wedding DJ

This is one of the largest wedding spaces in the UK, and it needs to be treated like it. We brought in a full-scale PA system to properly fill the room, plus a lighting rig designed to give depth, movement, and colour across the entire barn rather than just the dancefloor.

AV mattered here. Clean, powerful sound without harshness, and lighting that matched the scale of the space. We also provided daytime support with high-quality wireless microphones for speeches and background music, keeping the energy smooth from start to finish.

Music brief and crowd read

The brief was simple and perfect. Pure, unapologetic fun. No overthinking, no holding back, and a crowd ready to move.

With Shivani’s South Asian background, there was a strong Indian influence in the room, not just in the food but in the energy. The key was reading when to lean into global rhythms, when to drop familiar anthems, and how to pace the night so nothing felt rushed or flat.

Momentum was everything. Early feel-good singalongs, confident tempo lifts, and then letting the room breathe before pushing into full peak-time chaos.

Key moments

The first dance was a stripped-back acoustic version of Still Into You, soft, intimate, and perfectly placed in a massive room that suddenly felt personal. From there, the night opened up quickly.

Genre switches landed cleanly. Pop anthems into throwback dance, singalong moments into hands-up energy, and a crowd that never needed convincing. By late night, the barn was bouncing, with zero drop in intensity.

The closer was a perfect bookend. The original Still Into You came back in its full Paramore glory, emotional, loud, and absolutely earned.

Big Tunes That Worked

  • Mr. Brightside – The Killers, instant full-room singalong

  • Yeah! – Usher, peak energy and nonstop movement

  • Don’t Stop Me Now – Queen, hands up, voices louder than the PA

  • I Wanna Dance with Somebody – Whitney Houston, universal joy

  • Shut Up and Dance – Walk the Moon, clean transition into peak time

Curveballs That Worked

  • Maan Meri Jaan – King, massive reaction and cultural crossover

  • Temperature – Sean Paul, dancefloor stayed locked in

  • Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana, unexpected but explosive

  • Still Into You – Paramore, emotional, perfect closer

Finale

Ending where the night began, but louder, faster, and with the whole room singing. The final track hit, arms went up, and the barn felt completely alive right until the last beat.

A huge room, a brilliant crowd, and a wedding that fully committed to having fun.

WEDDING DJ BUXTED PARK HOTEL

Peak-time singalong at Buxted Park Hotel wedding reception with guests dancing

Wedding DJ Buxted Park Hotel

Tracey and Hans’ super fun wedding reception at Buxted Park

Buxted Park Hotel in Uckfield, East Sussex is one of those venues that makes weddings feel instantly elevated. Stately home hotel vibes, big sweeping grounds, and a reception space that looks classy early on, then absolutely comes alive once you drop the lights and get the room moving.

Tracey & Hans were the perfect match for it. British bride, Dutch groom, loads of different ages in the mix, and one clear instruction for the night: keep it fun, keep it busy, and make it feel like a proper party, not background music with a buffet.

Buxted Park Hotel Wedding DJ

Buxted Park has had a strong couple of years, including a South East regional win at The Wedding Industry Awards and a national Highly Commended mention off the back of it. You can feel why. It’s well run, slick without being stiff, and it gives you space to build a party properly.

For this one, DJ Jon ran our standard setup with an added mirrorball for a bit of extra sparkle. That mirrorball detail sounds small, but in a stately room it’s instant mood. As soon as the dancing starts, it makes the whole place feel warmer, livelier, and more like a night out.

Music brief and crowd read

The vibe was all-ages, high energy, with a Dutch twist ready to be deployed at exactly the right moment.

That kind of crowd needs movement. Not frantic genre-hopping for the sake of it, just a set that keeps evolving so everyone gets pulled in at different points. We opened with soul and Motown because it’s unbeatable for getting the first proper wave onto the floor, then started feeding in disco, pop, and 80s curve to lift the room. Once we had the younger crew fully locked, we pushed into modern pop and big party records without losing the older guests who were still going strong.

Key moments

Tracey & Hans kicked things off with Very Blue by Nick Waterhouse. Cool, stylish, and totally them. It’s the sort of first dance that doesn’t try too hard, it just lands, then gives you an easy runway to build energy straight after.

From there, the early section did exactly what you want at Buxted Park. The floor filled quickly, drinks started flowing, and you could see the room relax into party mode. The Motown run was a cheat code: loads of smiles, loads of feet moving, and zero awkward coaxing required.

Once the mirrorball was doing its thing and the dancefloor was clearly up for it, we started going bigger. Funky singalong disco, then the proper hands-in-the-air stuff. When September hit, that was the moment the night switched up a gear. After that, it was about keeping the peaks coming and tightening the transitions so nobody drifted off.

Then came the Dutch twist.

Dropping Little Green Bag at the right time got the reaction we wanted instantly. It’s one of those tracks where a specific part of the room goes, wait, no way, and suddenly everyone’s involved. We followed it with O O Den Haag, which turned into a full-on shout-along moment for Hans’ side, and a brilliant “what is this and why is it so fun” moment for everyone else.

The final stretch went full party. Big modern pop, big choruses, big energy. And instead of closing with something mega obvious, Tracey & Hans chose a smooth, feel-good finisher that suited the room perfectly: Leave the Door Open by Bruno Mars and Silk Sonic. End-of-night vibes, arms around mates, grinning on the way out.

Big Tunes That Worked

  • September – Earth, Wind & Fire, instant lift and the floor stayed packed

  • Get Lucky – Daft Punk, effortless groove that kept every age group moving

  • Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars, pure chaos in the best way

  • I Wanna Dance with Somebody – Whitney Houston, full volume singing, no hesitation

  • Dancing Queen – ABBA, multi-generation gold, everyone knows the job

  • I Gotta Feeling – Black Eyed Peas, that late-night “we’re not done yet” switch

Curveballs That Worked

  • Little Green Bag – George Baker Selection, Dutch pride moment, massive payoff

  • O O Den Haag – Harry Klorkestein, niche choice, huge reaction from the right people

  • Night Boat to Cairo – Madness, hands everywhere, proper joyful madness

  • Monkey Man – The Maytals, ska left turn that kept the room bouncing

  • The Time Warp – Rocky Horror Cast, zero resistance, everybody committed

  • You Can Leave Your Hat On – Joe Cocker, cheeky, confident, and it worked

Finale

Buxted Park Hotel is built for a classy wedding that still ends up feeling like a proper party, and Tracey & Hans nailed that balance. Great mix of guests, a clear musical personality, and a dancefloor that got louder and looser as the night went on.

If you’re planning a wedding at Buxted Park Hotel and want a set that feels like you, not a generic wedding playlist, get in touch for a quote.

WEDDING DJ CHAPEL HOUSE ESTATE, RAMSGATE

Friends dancing and singing along on the dancefloor during the wedding evening

Chapel House Estate Wedding DJ - Estelle & Diccon

Set just outside Ramsgate, Chapel House Estate is one of those venues that surprises people the moment they walk in. From the outside it feels calm and understated. Inside, the main barn opens up into a huge, light-filled space that can handle serious production without ever feeling cavernous. For Estelle and Diccon’s April wedding, that space got put to very good use.

This was a night built around momentum. No easing in, no background section, just a flat out 90s, 00s and 10s party from start to finish, with a few well-timed classics dropped in for the wider crowd.

A first dance that set the tone early

The night kicked off with Spin You Around by Morgan Wallen. It’s relaxed, warm and unforced, and it worked perfectly in the room.

As soon as the track finished, there was no long pause or reset. We moved straight from first dance into party mode, and the floor stayed busy from that point on.

Big room, big production

Chapel House Estate’s barn is ideal if you want to go big visually without it feeling cluttered. Estelle and Diccon leaned fully into that. Our setup included mirrorball, haze, lasers and multiple moving heads, which meant we could build layers through the night rather than throwing everything on at once.

The combination of haze and lighting worked especially well once the room filled up. Beams stayed sharp, the mirrorball cut through the space properly, and the whole thing felt like a club environment without losing the warmth of the venue itself.

A no-nonsense party set

The brief was simple; Keep it moving, stick to proven dancefloor records, and don’t overthink it. That gave us room to run through big 90s and 00s tracks, early 10s anthems, and crossover records that work across age groups.

The crowd response made it easy to keep pushing forward. Once the first hands-in-the-air moments landed, the night took care of itself. The room is large, but when it fills, it really fills, and that energy fed straight back into the set.

There was also plenty of space to drop in older soul and disco without breaking the flow. Tracks like Young Hearts Run Free, Ain’t Nobody and Never Too Much pulled everyone in early and made the jump into heavier dance records feel completely natural.

A proper end-of-night finish

The final run of the night leaned hard into big singalongs and high-energy closers, with the pace staying up right to the end. Levels, Titanium and Pretty Green Eyes kept the energy high before Give Me Everything by Pitbull and Afrojack closed things out exactly how it should, full floor, hands up, zero interest in stopping.

It was one of those endings where everyone knows it’s the last track and still gives it everything anyway.

Big tunes that went off

A few of the guaranteed floor-fillers from the night:

  • Yeah! - Usher

  • I Wanna Dance with Somebody - Whitney Houston

  • Heads Will Roll - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

  • Mr. Brightside - The Killers

  • Levels - Avicii

  • Titanium - David Guetta feat. Sia

  • Give Me Everything - Pitbull & Afrojack

Curveballs that worked

Even with a very clear 90s, 00s and 10s brief, there was still room to take a few side steps without losing the floor. Because the crowd were fully locked in, we could lean into some left turns and nostalgia moments without the energy dipping.

A few that landed particularly well:

  • Groove Is In The Heart - Deee-Lite

  • Finally - CeCe Peniston

  • What Is Love - Haddaway

  • U Sure Do - Strike

  • Reach - S Club

  • Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus

These are the kind of tracks that can feel risky with the wrong crowd. Here, they just added texture and personality, before pushing straight back into higher-energy dance and pop without missing a beat.

Chapel House Estate wedding DJs who know the room

Every RedLine wedding is built around the couple, the crowd and the space itself. At Chapel House Estate, that means knowing how to use the scale of the barn properly, how to pace a big room so it never dips, and when to lean into production without it tipping into overload.

WEDDING DJ EASTWOOD OBSERVATORY

Pics by Yaky Di Roma

EASTWOOD OBSERVATORY WEDDING DJ, HAILSHAM

Eastwood Observatory Wedding DJ - Lois & Tom

Tucked away just outside Hailsham, Eastwood Observatory is one of those venues that feels like a private world of its own. A 12 bedroom country estate, it’s got that perfect mix of laid back weekend-houseparty energy and polished wedding setting and we are absolutely stoked to have been added to their suppliers list for 2025 and beyond! For Lois and Tom’s August wedding, the brief was simple: no half measures, no background vibes, just a full tilt, glitter covered party from first track to last.

A first dance that actually sounded like them

Lois and Tom opened the night with Little Blue by Jacob Collier and Brandi Carlile. It’s not a typical wedding first dance, which is exactly why it worked. It felt intimate, honest and properly personal, and by the first chorus you could feel the room settle into that “ok, this is going to be a good one” mood. As soon as the last note landed, we flipped the switch from emotional to retro euphoria with Faithless’s Insomnia and the dancefloor did not empty once after that.

Sparkles, subs and sequins

These two work in TV production, so they know exactly how important sound, lighting and pacing are when you’re trying to keep a crowd locked in. They went all in on the production: our mirrorball package plus an upgraded high fidelity sound system with subs, so every chorus hit hard and the room looked like a disco snow globe.

The brief on music was “maximum fun, zero cheese, but don’t be scared to lean into the bangers.” So that’s what we did - a fast moving, high energy set that jumped between eras without ever losing the thread. Classic disco and funk, 00s R&B, euro-pop, a bit of pop punk, some singalong anthems and just enough chaos to keep everyone on their toes.

A cross-genre party that never took a breath

Once the formalities were out of the way, we went straight in with dancefloor-ready tunes: Give Me Everything, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, September, Young Hearts Run Free, Blame It On The Boogie - the sort of records that drag even the shy uncles off the edge of the room.

From there it was a proper gear-shift night. One minute it was Crazy In Love and 24K Magic, the next it was Get Busy, Low, We Found Love and Titanium with everyone jumping, shouting and hanging off each other. The furry pink hats and fez’s came out early and never went away, which tells you everything you need to know about the energy.

By the last hour we were firmly in “no one cares what time it is” territory: Livin’ On A Prayer, Everybody (Backstreet’s Back), Take A Chance On Me, I Write Sins Not Tragedies, Welcome To The Black Parade, Tiny Dancer and Love Story all getting full room singalongs.

And then, of course, the finish: The Best by Tina Turner, with Lois and Tom in the middle of the circle, everyone screaming the chorus at them. Perfect ending, zero notes.

Big tunes that went off

A few of the guaranteed destroyers from the night:

  • Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) - ABBA

  • Crazy In Love - Beyoncé feat. JAY-Z

  • Insomnia - Faithless

  • We Found Love - Rihanna

  • Titanium - David Guetta feat. Sia

  • Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) - Backstreet Boys

  • Love Story - Taylor Swift

  • The Best - Tina Turner

Curveballs that worked

The crowd were up for anything, so we could throw in a few left turns and get away with all of them:

  • We No Speak Americano - Yolanda Be Cool

  • Rosie Red - Maxïmo Park

  • Welcome To The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

  • I Write Sins Not Tragedies - Panic! At The Disco

  • Grace Kelly - Mika

These are the kind of tracks that can fall flat with the wrong crowd. Here they absolutely flew - proof that when you’ve got the right couple, the right guests and the right build up, you can get pretty adventurous.

Bespoke wedding DJ sets that actually feel bespoke

Like every RedLine wedding, Lois and Tom’s night was built completely around them - their tastes, their friends, their families and how they wanted the night to feel. No off-the-shelf playlist, no “standard wedding set”, just a properly thought through run of music that matched the venue, the production and the crowd.

If you’re planning a wedding at Eastwood Observatory and want a DJ who can actually use that dancefloor and sound system properly, we’d love to chat. WEDDING DJ GOODENOUGH COLLEGE, RUSSELL SQUARE

GOODENOUGH COLLEGE WEDDING DJ, RUSSELL SQUARE

Nat & Tom's Goodenough College Wedding - August 2025

Nestled in the heart of Russell Square, Goodenough College is hands down one of London’s most underrated and under booked wedding venues. Don’t be fooled by the academic name – this place isn’t just “good enough,” (sorry) it’s great. The venue combines historic architecture with leafy gardens, old-school charm with modern polish. It’s like getting married inside a Richard Curtis film set, but with a killer sound system (this is where we come in).

We were absolutely buzzing to be added to the suppliers list at Goodenough College, and even more so when Nat & Tom got in touch. These two brought pure energy to their day – a Romanian-American combo who knew exactly how they wanted their night to go: zero airs and graces, maximum party.

From the second the dancefloor opened, it was carnage – in the best possible way. Bride and groom planted themselves on the dancefloor and didn’t move for hours. No disappearing for cig breaks, no long catch-ups with Auntie Margaret in the corner – they were locked in and absolutely living it.

This was the kind of wedding where you feel like you’ve been transported straight into a (an albeit very opulent) festival tent – sweaty, euphoric, and with bangers flying in thick and fast.

Music Highlights

The musical brief was clear: fun, high-energy, and with a strong tilt toward Europop and Romanian hits to keep the bride’s side of the family in the zone. Think O-Zone’s ‘Dragostea Din Tei’, Akcent, and a healthy sprinkle of Euroclub anthems. The American side brought the big singalongs – from Bon Jovi and Backstreet Boys to Beyoncé and Queen.

These guys didn’t just want a playlist – they wanted a full experience. It was high-energy chaos from first song to last.

First dance: Elvis Presley – Can’t Help Falling In Love
Last song of the night: Whitney Houston – I Wanna Dance With Somebody

You love to see it.

Big Tunes That Absolutely Went Off

  • Gimme Gimme Gimme – ABBA

  • Dragostea Din Tei – O-Zone

  • Party Rock Anthem – LMFAO

  • Cake by the Ocean – DNCE

  • It’s Raining Men – The Weather Girls

  • Don’t Stop Me Now – Queen

  • Raise Your Glass – P!nk

Curveballs That Worked

  • All The Things She Said – t.A.T.u.

  • Gasca Mea – Hi-Q

  • In Lipsa Mea – Smiley, Uzzi

  • Fireball – Pitbull feat. John Ryan

  • You Spin Me Round – Dead or Alive

The Setup

For this one, we went with the full daytime package: wireless mics for speeches, uplighters to warm the space, subs to bring the low-end, and a few extra moving heads to elevate the look as the sun went down. Goodenough College is a classy space, but once you add in the light show and serious volume, it morphs into a proper party spot.

Why We Loved This One

It’s easy to say “amazing couple, amazing night” – but this genuinely was. Nat & Tom’s commitment to making their wedding a full-throttle party was infectious. There’s a special kind of magic when the couple lead from the front, and their energy completely set the tone for the entire room. Everyone followed their lead, and the result was one of the most fun nights of the summer.

Also – serious props for the international blend of music. So many couples are scared to lean into music that isn't on every 'wedding classics' list, but this just proved that bold choices + confident vibes = huge dancefloor fun.

WEDDING DJ AT THE ELGIN, MAIDA VALE

wedding reception with high-energy DJ set by RedLine DJs

THE ELGIN WEDDING DJ, MAIDA VALE

WEDDING DJ THE ELGIN, MAIDA VALE – LUKE & DANIEL

The Elgin in Maida Vale is one of those rare wedding venues that nails the sweet spot between pub charm and all-out party potential. It’s cosy, unpretentious, and perfectly set up for weddings that are high-energy, music-focused and absolutely overflowing with good vibes. Luke & Daniel took full advantage – shutting down the entire place for their big day and throwing a wedding that felt like a sweaty, joyous, 100-person house party (with infinitely better tunes).

First Dance, Last Dance & All the Chaos In Between

The night kicked off with Natalie Cole’s soul classic This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) – a pitch-perfect first dance for a summer wedding that didn’t take itself too seriously. From there, it was 3+ hours of non-stop dancefloor energy, fuelled by a wildly eclectic setlist that swung from ABBA to Arctic Monkeys to Missy Elliott to My Chemical Romance – and somehow made total sense the whole way through.

Even though this was a DJ-only booking using The Elgin’s in-house system, the energy in the room did all the work. You could feel the party spilling out into the street – in fact, security had their work cut out turning away the waves of locals drawn in by the sound of 80 people singing American Pie at full volume come midnight.

Big Tunes That Worked:

  • Murder on the Dancefloor – Sophie Ellis-Bextor

  • Kids – MGMT

  • Superstylin’ – Groove Armada

  • Common People – Pulp

  • This Girl – Kungs

  • Give Me the Night – George Benson

  • Milkshake – Kelis

Unexpected Bangers:

  • Kill Dem – Jamie xx

  • Filthy / Gorgeous – Scissor Sisters

  • I’m Not Okay (I Promise) – My Chemical Romance

  • Gimme More – Britney Spears

  • Get Ur Freak On – Missy Elliott

  • Heard It All Before – Sunshine Anderson (curveball that landed hard)

This was one of those weddings where the setlist just kept giving. No overplayed cheese, no momentum dips – just big moments and bigger reactions all night long. When American Pie finally dropped as the last song, the entire pub was belting it out like their lives depended on it.

WEDDING DJ AT THE LORDSHIP PUB, EAST DULWICH

THE LORDSHIP PUB WEDDING DJ, DULWICH

Wedding DJ at The Lordship, East Dulwich – Alex & Iona

There’s something special about a pub wedding, especially when the couple takes over the whole place and turns it into one big chaotic, joyous mess. That’s exactly what happened at Alex & Iona’s wedding at The Lordship in East Dulwich – a total riot from start to finish in the best possible way.

The Lordship – A Local Gem in East Dulwich

If you don’t know The Lordship, it’s a cracking little pub tucked away in SE22. Think stripped-back interiors, great food, a properly stocked bar, and a team who actually give a damn. It’s the kind of venue that doesn’t need dressing up – it’s already full of character – and it was the perfect backdrop for Alex & Iona’s effortlessly cool summer wedding.

This was our first time at the venue but we would play here again in a heartbeat. Great team, great flow, and the kind of vibe that encourages people to let loose.

A Fred Again First Dance and a Wild Finish

Alex & Iona kicked things off with ‘Adore U’ by Fred Again – a brilliant choice for a first dance that set the tone perfectly. Romantic, modern, emotional, and not at all cheesy. That same tone ran through the night: no filler, no tired wedding tropes – just a packed dancefloor, genre-hopping mayhem, and an energy that didn’t drop once.

They wrapped it all up with ‘You Got The Love’ by Florence + The Machine – an emotional, euphoric closer that had the whole place bouncing.

Packed Floor, Chaotic Energy, and a Proper East London Crowd

This was one of those nights where the set just kept levelling up – every tune hit. The playlist was a whirlwind of eras and styles that somehow made perfect sense together. The crowd was up for anything, and DJ Edamame kept the energy moving with some inspired programming and fearless transitions.

Big Tunes That Worked

  • Adore U – Fred Again

  • Groove Is in the Heart – Deee-Lite

  • Murder on the Dancefloor – Sophie Ellis-Bextor

  • This Girl – Kungs Vs Cookin’ On 3 Burners

  • We Are Your Friends – Justice Vs Simian

Unexpected Bangers

  • In For The Kill (Skream’s Let’s Get Ravey Remix) – La Roux

  • Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix) – Yeah Yeah Yeahs

  • The Kids Aren’t Alright – The Offspring

  • Fucking Wizardry – Self Esteem

The Setup

With limited space to work with, we rolled in our compact black DJ booth, moving head lighting, wireless uplighters, and still managed to squeeze in enough gear to make the dancefloor pop. It’s a small space, but with the right lighting and a packed crowd, the atmosphere was unbeatable.

WEDDING DJ AT TOKLAS RESTAURANT, TEMPLE - LONDON

WEDDING DJ TOKLAS RESTAURANT, TEMPLE - LONDON

Wedding DJ for Toklas Restaurant – Laurence & Josh’s High-Energy Set in Central London

Toklas Restaurant isn’t your typical wedding venue – and that’s exactly what makes it brilliant. Tucked away just behind the Strand in the heart of London’s Temple district, it’s a small, modern Mediterranean spot with incredible food and a stripped-back, stylish vibe that feels effortlessly cool.

Laurence and Josh’s wedding matched that energy perfectly. They kept things short and sharp – this wasn’t a long drawn-out affair – but they absolutely made the most of every second. When it came to the dancefloor, they cranked things up from the first beat and didn’t let off until the final track faded out.

A Funky, Feel-Good First Dance

The first dance set the tone in the best possible way: “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” by Jackie Wilson – all feel-good energy, beaming smiles, and immediate crowd engagement. No slow sway, no awkward shuffling – just straight into the good stuff.

Short Set, Big Energy

We didn’t have hours to play with, but what we had was gold. From disco and camp pop classics to Springsteen, Sugababes and some killer 80s selections, it was wall-to-wall bangers. Laurence and his family are massive fans of The Specials, so we closed the night on “Enjoy Yourself” – a niche pick, but absolutely the right call. A huge skank-along moment that felt totally personal.

Josh, originally from the States, brought some transatlantic flavour too – Billy Joel and Springsteen worked a treat alongside the disco and pop-heavy core. It was a brilliant blend, totally reflective of both grooms.

Big Tunes That Landed:

  • “D.I.S.C.O” – Ottawan

  • “The Promise” – Girls Aloud

  • “Buffalo Stance” – Neneh Cherry

  • “Work (Freemasons Edit)” – Kelly Rowland

  • “A Little Respect” – Erasure

Unexpected Bangers:

  • “Dark Lady” – Cher

  • “Nelson Mandela” – The Specials

  • “Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer)” – Freemasons ft. Sophie Ellis-Bextor

  • “Do It Do It Again” – Raffaella Carrà

  • “Love & Pride” – King

Lighting & Setup

This wasn’t a huge room, but we gave it the full party feel. We rolled in with the black DJ booth, upgraded moving heads, wireless uplighting, mirror ball and subs – a perfect, punchy lighting rig that made the compact dancefloor feel like a full-on club.

Thanks so much to Josh and Laurence for having along for the ride!

WEDDING DJ AT FRIZZANTE, HACKNEY CITY FARM

Frizzante interior transformed into evening party space for East London wedding

WEDDING DJ FRIZZANTE, HACKNEY

Wedding DJ at Frizzante, Hackney City Farm - Alice & Ruari

Weddings don’t get more Hackney than this. A working city farm in the heart of East London, a musically obsessed couple, and a packed-out dancefloor that stayed full right until the very last beat. Alice & Ruari’s wedding at Frizzante at Hackney City Farm was a proper East London party – full of love, energy and one of the best soundtracks of the summer.

The Venue: Frizzante at Hackney City Farm

Nestled in the middle of Hackney, Frizzante is the kind of venue that feels hidden in plain sight. You’ve got real farm animals, rustic indoor spaces, and a laid-back vibe that somehow still delivers on charm and atmosphere. For couples who want something quirky and totally unpretentious but still absolutely unforgettable, this place delivers.

We were recently added to the PSL (preferred suppliers list) here, and if this night was anything to go by, we can’t wait to be back. The team were chilled but super professional, and the space transformed beautifully from a rustic dining setup to full-blown dancefloor.

The First Dance

Kicking things off was Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” – low-key, moody, and totally unexpected. It was stripped-back and intimate, a perfect reflection of Alice & Ruari’s style – romantic, but without the soppiness.

From there, we turned things up fast, and didn’t let up all night.

A Genre-Hopping, Floor-Filling Set

This was a musically adventurous wedding, and the couple were 100% here for it. The brief was clear: no cheese, no filler, but plenty of variety. And crucially – keep the floor packed from start to finish.

Mission accomplished.

There were disco classics (think Tina Charles and Sylvester), indie favourites (Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes), full-on party bangers (Groovejet, Uptown Funk), and a few leftfield moments that absolutely slapped – “Jesus Walks” by Kanye West being one of them.

Also, not one but two plays of “I’m Your Man” by Wham!, thanks to the presence of a very special guest – Andrew Ridgeley himself. No pressure then.

Lighting, Production & Vibes

For this one we rolled out:

  • Black DJ booth

  • Full wireless uplighter package

  • Moving head lighting

  • Haze machine

  • Massive mirrorball to top it all off

A dedicated lighting tech was on hand throughout the night to work the lights live with the music – meaning every drop, every chorus, every peak hit harder.

The result? A dancefloor that felt like a private club set – immersive, atmospheric, and designed to keep people moving all night long.

Big Tunes That Worked

  • “You Should Be Dancing” – Bee Gees

  • “Spillways” – Ghost

  • “Absolutely Everybody” – Vanessa Amorosi

  • “Common People” – Pulp

  • “Thunder Road” – Bruce Springsteen

Curveballs That Worked

  • “Jesus Walks” – Kanye West

  • “Danza Kuduro” – Don Omar

  • “Conga” – Gloria Estefan

  • “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” – My Chemical Romance

Last Song of the Night

There’s only one way to close out a night like this – and Cher’s “Believe” absolutely delivered. Euphoric, emotional, and everyone – everyone – belting out every word.

BROCKWELL HALL WEDDING DJ, BROCKWELL PARK

WEDDING DJ BROCKWELL HALL, BROCKWELL PARK

Brockwell Hall Wedding DJ – Andy & Amy’s Summer Blowout in South London

First Dance: Loud Places – Jamie xx, Romy
Last Song of the Night: Live Forever – Oasis
DJ: Jon
Lighting Package: Flown mirrorball, moving heads, uplighters, dedicated lighting tech.

Brockwell Hall is one of South London’s most talked-about new wedding venues—and it’s easy to see why. Tucked away inside Brockwell Park, just a short stroll from Herne Hill and Brixton, the newly renovated venue is a stunning glass-fronted space that manages to feel both modern and romantic, with panoramic views of the surrounding greenery and skyline. We’re proud to be on the suppliers list here and were buzzing to play our first official wedding at the venue for Andy & Amy in August 2025.

The couple brought an incredible crowd—full of energy, up for a proper party, and totally game from the first track to the last. With a groom from Stoke (more on that shortly), a perfect summer evening, and a seriously stylish couple who wanted a massive party, this one went off.

The Music: A Packed Floor from the Jump

We kicked things off with a dream of a first dance—Loud Places by Jamie xx & Romy. Atmospheric, heartfelt, and surprisingly danceable, it set the tone perfectly. From there, it was all systems go. A blend of modern disco, 90s indie-dance crossovers, and euphoric classics kept the floor filled from start to finish.

The crowd was up for everything. Think Donna Summer into ABBA into Hot Chip. Think Kylie into Gipsy Kings into Peggy Gou. And yes, Stoke was very well represented—Robbie got multiple outings (including Feel and Angels, obviously).

We also saw the indie kids come alive late in the night with a closing run that included This Must Be the Place and Live Forever, bringing it all home with a proper arms-round-your-mates finish.

Big Tunes That Hit

  • Music Sounds Better With You – Stardust

  • Praise You – Fatboy Slim

  • Dancing on My Own – Robyn

  • Gimme Gimme Gimme – ABBA

  • Push the Button – Sugababes

Curveballs That Worked

  • Rasputin – Boney M

  • Superstylin’ – Groove Armada

  • Romeo – Basement Jaxx

  • Keep the Fire Burning – Gwen McCrae (Joey Negro mix)

Lighting That Took It Up a Gear

Andy & Amy went big on production—and it paid off. Andy & Amy went for a Full Send lighting package, complete with a flown mirrorball, full uplighter wash, 6 moving heads, and a dedicated lighting tech running DMX-controlled scenes all night. The result? A visually stunning setup that elevated the dancefloor experience from good to unforgettable.

The mirrorball looked incredible in that space—sparkles everywhere, bouncing off the glass walls and ceiling like some kind of disco greenhouse. It was easily one of the most visually spectacular weddings we’ve done all year.

THE IN & OUT (NAVAL AND MILITARY CLUB) WEDDING DJ

WEDDING DJ THE IN & OUT (NAVAL AND MILITARY CLUB)

Jack & Amy’s Wedding at The In & Out (Naval and Military Club), London

Tucked away behind grand gates on St James’s Square, The In & Out (Naval and Military Club) is the kind of venue that makes you stop in your tracks. A proper hidden gem in the middle of central London, with its opulent staircase, sweeping courtyard and old-school charm — this place oozes character. It’s not your typical wedding venue, and that’s exactly what made it perfect for Jack & Amy, who threw one of the most full-throttle parties we’ve seen all year.

The crowd came to move. Within seconds of the first dance — a synth-soaked, emotional-but-cool classic in ‘Always On My Mind’ by Pet Shop Boys — the energy was already on a high. No slow build here. Jack & Amy wanted it to feel like a night out with all their favourite people in a ridiculously beautiful setting, and that’s exactly what it was.

From the first track to the last (‘Angels’ by Robbie Williams, obviously shouted with full chest by every single person in the room), this one did not let up. It was hot, sweaty, euphoric — and the couple absolutely loved it.

A Few Big Tunes That Absolutely Went Off:

  • ‘September’ – Earth, Wind & Fire

  • ‘One More Time’ – Daft Punk

  • ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’ – AC/DC

  • ‘Levels’ – Avicii

  • ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ – Whitney Houston

  • ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’ – Sophie Ellis-Bextor

Unexpected Bangers That Landed Hard:

  • ‘Genesis’ – Justice (filthy electro intro, massive response)

  • ‘Right Round’ – Flo Rida (chaotic, fun, unhinged)

  • ‘Thunderstruck’ – AC/DC (all about that intro)

  • ‘Freedom! ’90’ – George Michael (everyone knew every word)

  • ‘I Follow Rivers (The Magician Remix)’ – Lykke Li (euphoric!)

First Dance:

  • ‘Always On My Mind’ – Pet Shop Boys

Last Song of the Night:

  • ‘Angels’ – Robbie Williams

We absolutely loved this one. Jack & Amy were buzzing from start to finish, the crowd was all-in, and The In & Out delivered one of the most unique, classy-but-unpretentious vibes we’ve played all year.

SMITHS OF SMITHFIELD WEDDING DJ - FARRINGDON

WEDDING DJ Smiths of Smithfield, farringdon

John & Chantal’s Disco-Soaked Farringdon Party

When the brief is “45 minutes of cool disco to start things off, then bring the heat” – we already know it’s going to be a good night. And that’s exactly what unfolded at John & Chantal’s wedding at Smiths of Smithfield, a brilliant modern venue in the heart of Farringdon that somehow manages to combine slick urban design with a warm, welcoming feel – ideal for weddings that want a bit of edge and a lot of fun.

The couple brought serious energy. The dancefloor? Packed from the first track to the very last. And with a German contingent of friends and family in the house, you just know there were going to be some Euro bangers involved. This one was an absolute riot from start to finish.

Venue vibes

Smiths of Smithfield is a venue we love for its versatility – city wedding couples get the benefit of a cool, contemporary space right in the heart of London, without sacrificing atmosphere. High ceilings, industrial finishes, huge windows, great food, and – most importantly – a killer layout for partying. Add the right lighting and you’re halfway to a warehouse rave.

First Dance? Straight soul.

John & Chantal kicked things off in timeless style with Etta James – At Last. It’s always a crowd pleaser, and it gave everyone that breath-catching, just-married moment of magic before things took a hard left turn… straight into The Blues Brothers – Everybody Needs Somebody to Love, and from there, it was game on.

Playlist breakdown

The first part of the evening was heavy on disco – Voulez-Vous, September, Hot Stuff, Hung Up, About Damn Time (Purple Disco Machine Remix) and Stand on the Word (Dimitri from Paris remix) all landed perfectly. Smooth, cool, funky – it gave everyone the perfect warm-up to ease into what became one of the most eclectic and rowdy wedding sets we’ve played all year.

Big highlight? Julian Sommer – Dicht im Flieger, which sent the German crew into complete meltdown. Absolute scenes. One of those "you had to be there" moments. This was followed up by some proper Euro dance bombs – Scooter – Nessaja, Dragostea Din Tei, Sandstorm, and even The Vengaboys – We Like to Party!. No shame. All fire.

And of course, we snuck in a few indie singalongs later in the night (Teenage Dirtbag, All the Small Things, Mr Brightside) before wrapping the whole thing up with a gorgeous final slow dance to Yazoo – Only You.

Big Tunes That Worked

  • Rasputin – Majestic, Boney M

  • Hot Stuff – Donna Summer x Kygo

  • Oops I Did It Again – Britney Spears

  • Gasolina – Daddy Yankee

  • Hung Up – Madonna

  • Blinding Lights – The Weeknd

Curveballs That Worked

  • Daõi Freyr – Think About Things

  • Joubert Singers – Stand on the Word (Dimitri from Paris Remix)

  • Gigi D’Agostino – L’Amour Toujours

  • What Is Love – Haddaway

  • Julian Sommer – Dicht im Flieger (can’t say it enough – highlight of the night)

First Dance:

At Last – Etta James

Last Song of the Night:

Only You – Yazoo

Final Word

WEDDING DJ GREENWICH YACHT CLUB

Rocking the Yacht: Rachel & Joey’s Wedding at Greenwich Yacht Club

We had an unforgettable night DJing Rachel and Joey’s wedding at Greenwich Yacht Club—one of London’s most unique and exciting venues, set right on the Thames with epic waterfront views. The vibe was electric from the start, and with DJ Jon on the decks, it was destined to be an absolute banger of a night!

Rachel and Joey made a bold statement right from the off with their first dance to "You Spin Me Round" by Dead or Alive. It was the perfect high-energy opener and a clear sign that this wasn’t going to be your average wedding set. The crowd was instantly on board, and we didn’t let the energy drop for the rest of the night.

Rock & Alt Vibes with a Twist

Rachel and Joey’s love for rock and alt tunes was front and centre throughout the night, and we leaned into it hard. The set was packed with a mix of classic rock anthems, alt-rock bangers, and some unexpected twists that really made the night stand out.

Unexpected Curveballs That Worked

  • "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC - A full-on rock anthem that had the crowd going wild.

  • "Back in Black" by AC/DC - Keeping the rock energy up with another classic.

  • "Dani California" by Red Hot Chili Peppers - An alt-rock gem that brought serious hype to the dancefloor.

  • "Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen - Rock and roll energy that had the whole room singing along.

Big Tunes That Hit the Mark

We made sure to mix in a few mainstream anthems alongside the rock classics, and they went off just as hard:

  • "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers - A guaranteed indie banger that had the room bouncing.

  • "Sex on Fire" by Kings of Leon - Never fails to get the place jumping.

  • "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen - One of those tracks that unites the whole room.

  • "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses - A rock anthem that kept the energy soaring.

Last Song to Remember

As the night came to a close, there was only one track that could finish things off in style—"Africa" by Toto. It’s an unexpected classic that brought everyone together one last time, with the whole room belting out the iconic chorus. A perfect way to end an incredible night.

A Night to Remember

Rachel and Joey’s wedding at Greenwich Yacht Club was an absolute triumph. From rock and alt classics to massive singalongs, it was a non-stop party from start to finish. We’re all about creating bespoke sets that reflect each couple’s unique vibe, and this night was no exception. Congratulations to Rachel and Joey!

THE PEASANT, CLERKENWELL WEDDING DJ

WEDDING DJ THE PEASANT, CLERKENWELL

Rachel & StephAn’s Wedding at The Peasant, Clerkenwell – A Transatlantic Party Done Right

There’s a reason The Peasant in Clerkenwell is one of London’s most loved wedding venues. A proper Victorian pub with a killer atmosphere, an epic drinks selection, and plenty of space to party—this place is built for a wedding with serious energy. And with Rachel & Stephan bringing together friends and family from both sides of the Atlantic, their big day was always going to be something special.

With DJ Jon on the decks, an eclectic playlist, and a crowd that came ready to go all night, this was a wedding party to remember.

A Soulful Start to a Massive Night

Rachel & Stephan kicked things off with a seriously cool first dance choice—"Oh How Happy" by Shades of Blue. A deep-cut 60s soul classic, it was the perfect feel-good track to set the tone for the night. The moment the chorus hit, the dancefloor filled, and that energy never dipped for the rest of the night.

From there, it was a full-speed ride through decades of soul, funk, rock, R&B, and indie bangers. The Peasant’s upstairs dancefloor space turned into a wall-to-wall party, fuelled by an eclectic mix of tunes that covered both UK and US dancefloor gold.

Big Tunes That Went Off

This was a high-energy, all-in crowd, and every genre had its moment. Some of the biggest highlights included:

  • "September" – Earth, Wind & Fire – You cannot go wrong with this one. Full wedding takeover.

  • "Teenage Dirtbag" – Wheatus – Every word screamed.

  • "Empire State of Mind" – Jay-Z & Alicia Keys – A huge moment for the American side of the room.

  • "Common People" – Pulp – The UK crowd went full festival mode for this one.

Curveballs That Worked

Every wedding has a few surprises that absolutely take over the night, and this was no different:

  • "Take Me Home, Country Roads" – John Denver → A full pub singalong moment.

  • "Digital Love" – Daft Punk → A deep cut from Daft Punk that always catches people off guard but works brilliantly when dropped at the right moment.

  • "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" – Jet → An early-2000s indie banger that isn’t a typical wedding tune but absolutely slaps when the energy is high.

A Huge Finish

The last hour of this wedding was absolute chaos in the best possible way. A mix of 00s indie, rock singalongs, and big US anthems kept the dancefloor packed until the final track.

For the last song of the night, Rachel & Stephan chose "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" by Elton John—a slow-burn classic that had arms around shoulders, drinks in the air, and some serious end-of-the-night emotions.

HOW MUCH SHOULD MY WEDDING DJ COST ME?

How Much Does a Wedding DJ Cost? A Breakdown of Price vs. Quality

If you’re planning a wedding, chances are you’ve come across the question: how much does a wedding DJ cost? The truth is, wedding DJ prices vary massively, and knowing what you're actually getting for your money at each price point is crucial. From amateur DJs charging a couple of hundred pounds to high-end professional DJ companies and even celebrity wedding DJs with five-figure fees, the difference in quality, experience, and service is significant.

A great wedding DJ is about far more than just hitting play on a playlist. The right DJ will read the crowd, mix seamlessly, adapt to the energy of the room, and most importantly, keep the dancefloor packed all night. But with so many different options available, how do you know what you should be paying for a wedding DJ?

It’s important to note that the wedding DJ prices outlined in this guide are based on London wedding DJ rates, where costs are naturally higher due to the city’s demand and higher business expenses. If you’re booking a DJ outside of London, you can generally reduce these prices by around 20%, as rule of thumb. However, the same principles apply—knowing what you should be getting for your budget at each level is key to making the right decision.

This guide breaks down the five main price points you’ll find when looking for a wedding DJ. We’ll cover what you can expect at each level—from budget amateurs to premium professional wedding DJs and even celebrity DJ bookings—so you can make the right choice for your wedding.

Amateur DJ (£100-£200) – The “Mate of a Mate” Option

At this price point, you're not hiring a professional DJ—you’re most likely booking a friend of a friend who DJs occasionally at bars or house parties but has little to no wedding experience.

The Good Bits:

It’s cheap – This price is so low it barely needs budgeting for.
Personal connection – You might know them, which could be reassuring.
A cost-saving option – If music isn’t a big priority, this might work.

The Risks:

No wedding experience – Keeping a structured wedding night flowing is completely different from playing in a pub or at a house party.
No accountability – Without a proper business setup, there’s nothing stopping them from bailing last minute.
Poor equipment – Expect low-quality speakers, no backup gear, and no sound technician.
Limited communication – No contracts, no clear agreements, and minimal planning.

What You Can Expect:

🔹 A casual approach—little to no pre-wedding planning.
🔹 Unreliable service—there’s no guarantee they’ll even turn up.
🔹 A DIY setup—you’re gambling on sound quality and professionalism.

Pro/Am DJ (£200-£400) – The Side Hustle DJ

This DJ has a bit more experience, maybe with a basic website and a few weddings under their belt. They often DJ at bars, birthdays, and small club nights but wedding-specific experience may still be lacking.

The Good Bits:

More experienced than an amateur – They’ve possibly played some weddings before.
Still relatively affordable – A middle-ground price point.
If you’ve seen them play before – They can be a solid budget-friendly choice.

The Risks:

No backup plan – If they can’t make it, you’re scrambling for a replacement.
Limited playlist control – Some will accept requests, but many won’t.
Equipment might be outdated – A professional setup costs £10k+—someone charging £300 per gig likely doesn’t have high-end kit.

What You Can Expect:

🔹 A functional but basic setup—they'll have their own equipment, but don’t expect pro-quality sound.
🔹 Limited pre-wedding communication—you may not get much planning input.
🔹 A set that works, but isn’t tailored to you.

Mid-Level Professional DJ Company (£400-£800) – The "Stack ‘Em High" Option

This is the price-point where you tend to start working with a company rather than an individual DJ. These businesses send DJs out to multiple weddings every weekend and tend to have a business model that prioritises volume over high quality.

The Good Bits:

A lot of experience as a business—they’ve done hundreds (if not thousands) of weddings.
A structured process—you’ll get contracts, invoices, and likely decent equipment.
Backup DJs available—if your assigned DJ is ill, they can send a replacement.

The Risks:

The "stack ‘em high" model—these companies prioritise volume over quality, which can lead to inconsistent DJs. You may get a good one, you may not.
DJs may not be properly vetted—some companies hire cheap DJs to keep costs low.
Limited customisation—you might not have much input into the setlist.
A risk of "cheesy wedding DJ" vibes—some DJs may rely on outdated crowd-pleasers rather than truly tailoring the night.

What You Can Expect:

🔹 A reliable DJ with good equipment—but the level of DJing talent can be hit-or-miss.
🔹 Some playlist input, but don’t expect a fully bespoke experience.
🔹 A "safe" wedding setlist—it’ll work, but may lack originality.

How much does a wedding DJ cost London

High-Level Professional DJ Company (£800-£2500) – The Focus on Quality (This is Us, Hi 👋)

At this level, you’re booking a premium wedding DJ service that prioritises quality over volume. This is the option for the couple that is truly serious about their wedding party.

The Good Bits:

Highly experienced DJs—hand-picked professionals with lots of wedding experience as well as club, festival, and private event backgrounds.
Bespoke setlists—the music is fully tailored to your exact vision.
Top-tier equipment—crystal-clear sound, professional lighting, and backups for everything.
Exceptional client service—pre-wedding Zoom calls, and full venue coordination.
Backup plans in place—if your DJ is unavailable, a like-for-like replacement is guaranteed without any slip in service level.

The Risks:

Can be expensive for some budgets—this level of service is premium, and the price often reflects that.
Sometimes as expensive as a live band—for couples deciding between a DJ and a band, this can be a factor.
Not necessary for all weddings—if music isn’t a huge priority for you, you might not need this level of detail and service.

What You Can Expect:

🔹 A completely bespoke experience – The music reflects your style perfectly.
🔹 A packed dancefloor from start to finish - DJs that under stand exactly what’s required of them at a wedding.
🔹 Professionalism at every stage – From enquiry to the final song of the night.

Celebrity DJ (£5000+) – The Ultimate Party Flex

For those with serious budgets, booking a big-name DJ can be the ultimate wedding flex. Whether it’s a world-famous club DJ, a member of a well-known band, or even a household name from the charts, this is where weddings start to feel more like VIP events.

The Good Bits:

Star power & wow factor – Having a celebrity DJ will make your wedding stand out.
A proper club experience – Some big-name DJs bring a high-energy, Ibiza-style party atmosphere.
A unique selling point – This is something that very few weddings can boast.

The Challenges:

Huge cost beyond the booking fee – The £5k+ price tag is just the starting point (and the cost will be much more for many DJs). You’ll likely need to pay for:

  • Their travel and accommodation (especially expensive for international DJs)

  • A high-spec equipment rider (which can be very pricey)

  • Possibly even security or a separate green room space for them

They don’t do “wedding DJing” – Celebrity DJs play their style, not yours. You won’t get much say over the setlist.
No flexibility – If they get sick or cancel, there’s no backup plan.
The cost-to-fun ratio – Spending £5k on a celeb DJ vs. spending that on other areas of the wedding needs to be considered.

What You Can Expect:

🔹 A club-level DJ set—this will be nothing like a standard wedding set.
🔹 Serious star power—expect the unexpected, but don’t expect much input into the music choices.
🔹 A huge logistical operation—these bookings are complex and require significant planning.

Booking a celebrity DJ can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but it’s not for everyone. If you’re looking for a DJ who will craft a bespoke, crowd-focused set tailored exactly to your wedding, a high-level professional DJ company is usually a better investment.

Final Thoughts: Choosing the Right Wedding DJ for Your Budget

A wedding DJ isn’t just about playing music—they set the energy, create the atmosphere, and make sure your dancefloor is packed all night. The difference between an average DJ and a great one isn’t just their ability to hit play—it’s in how they mix, read the crowd, and keep the momentum going from the first dance to the last song.

So, how do you decide?

  • If music isn’t a huge priority and you’re just looking for a basic setup, an amateur or pro/am DJ might work—but be prepared for unpredictable quality, no backup plans, and a lack of control over your night.

  • If you want reliability and a structured process, a mid-level DJ company can be a safe option. But expect a more generic experience, with DJs who follow a set formula rather than tailoring the night to your crowd.

  • If you want a bespoke, high-energy wedding soundtrack that reflects you and your guests, a high-level professional DJ company (like RedLine DJs) is the best investment. This guarantees:

    • A fully tailored music experience, based on your tastes.

    • Highly skilled, experienced DJs who know how to keep the party going.

    • Top-quality sound and lighting, with full backup plans for every detail.

    • A night that feels unique to you—no cookie-cutter playlists, no cheesy DJ chatter, just an incredible, unforgettable dancefloor.

If you want your wedding night to be one to remember, investing in a great DJ is one of the best decisions you’ll make.

At RedLine DJs, we sit firmly in the high-level professional DJ category—we don’t do generic wedding sets. WEDDING DJ WILTON'S MUSIC HALL

Laura & Chris’ Wedding at Wilton’s Music Hall – A Rock & Indie-Fueled Party

Wilton’s Music Hall is a truly iconic venue—one of the oldest surviving music halls in the world and an incredible setting for a wedding. As one of the venues where we’re on the PSL (preferred suppliers list), we know exactly how to bring the best party vibes to this space, and for Laura & Chris, that meant an indie and rock-heavy soundtrack that kept the dancefloor packed from start to finish.

A First Dance with an Edge

Forget traditional slow dances—Laura & Chris went straight in with Today by Smashing Pumpkins, setting the tone for a night filled with big guitar-driven anthems. It was a bold, brilliant choice, and as soon as the first chorus hit, the guests were fully involved.

A Rock & Indie-Packed Playlist

This was a dream setlist for indie and rock lovers, pulling in some of the biggest anthems across 90s, 00s, and classic rock history. Some of the standouts included:

  • Indie Bangers That Landed Hard – Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, The Killers, and Bloc Party had the dancefloor jumping.

  • 90s & 00s Alt-Rock Anthems – Blink-182, Foo Fighters, Green Day, and The White Stripes brought mosh-pit energy at times.

  • Classic Rock Singalongs – Fleetwood Mac, Queen, and David Bowie kept all generations in the mix.

  • A Bit of Electro & Dance-Rock – LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture, and The Prodigy added something different but kept the energy at 100.

Curveballs That Worked

Sometimes, it's the unexpected tracks that get the biggest reactions. These were the ones that blew up on the night:

  • Reptilia – The Strokes (An absolute moment—pure indie disco gold.)

  • Misery Business – Paramore (Straight-up chaos on the dancefloor.)

  • Gay Bar – Electric Six (A total wildcard that went off.)

A Huge Finale

As the night drew to a close, Laura & Chris went for an epic, euphoric ending, closing things out with You've Got the Love by Florence & The Machine. With arms around shoulders and voices at full volume, it was the perfect send-off to an unforgettable night.

A Legendary Night at Wilton’s Music Hall

Laura & Chris knew exactly what they wanted—an indie-rock-fueled wedding party with a dancefloor that never let up—and DJ Vicki Lou delivered. With the perfect mix of guitar anthems, indie classics, and unexpected moments, this was one for the books.

THE ROSENDALE WEDDING DJ DULWICH

WEDDING DJ THE ROSENDALE dulwich

Sophie & Justin’s Wedding at The Rosendale – A Non-Stop Party in Dulwich

The Rosendale in Dulwich is the definition of a top-tier London pub venue—great food, stylish interiors, and a proper party-ready function space that’s perfect for weddings. For Sophie & Justin, it was the ideal setting for a wedding that was all about the music, and with DJ Vicki Lou on the decks, the dancefloor was packed from start to finish.

A First Dance with a Difference

Sophie & Justin kicked things off with "Praise You" by Fatboy Slim—a first dance track that instantly set the tone for the night. No slow swaying, no sentimental ballads—just straight into the good vibes, with friends and family joining them early on to get the dancefloor buzzing from the start.

An Eclectic Wedding Playlist That Delivered

The mix for the night was all over the map in the best possible way. This was a proper London wedding crowd, so the playlist had to bring big indie, 90s dance, hip-hop, and classic throwbacks into the mix. Some of the standout moments included:

  • Indie Anthems That Landed Hard – The Strokes, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, and some early Arctic Monkeys keeping things lively.

  • Old-School Hip-Hop & R&BOutkast, Missy Elliott, and Snoop Dogg added a bit of 90s and 00s swagger to the set.

  • House & Dance Classics – Basement Jaxx, Daft Punk, and The Prodigy kept the energy levels up.

  • Singalong Guilty Pleasures – Because no wedding is complete without a bit of ABBA and Whitney Houston.

Curveballs That Worked

Some of the unexpected moments that went off big:

  • "Sabotage" – Beastie Boys (Proper mosh-pit energy for a wedding crowd)

  • "Get Ur Freak On" – Missy Elliott (Everyone lost it when this dropped—absolute chaos)

  • "Murder on the Dancefloor" – Sophie Ellis-Bextor (This one just keeps getting bigger and bigger)

A Massive Indie Finish

As the night drew to a close, the last stretch was wall-to-wall indie bangers, closing out on Arctic Monkeys’ "When The Sun Goes Down". Big singalong moment, full dancefloor mayhem, and the perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable night.

A Killer Party at The Rosendale

Sophie & Justin’s wedding was exactly how a pub wedding should be—laid-back, fun, and a full-throttle party from start to finish. With DJ Vicki Lou bringing the tunes, this was one of those weddings where you just know the crowd would’ve kept going all night if they could.
