EASTWOOD OBSERVATORY WEDDING DJ, HAILSHAM

Eastwood Observatory Wedding DJ - Lois & Tom

Tucked away just outside Hailsham, Eastwood Observatory is one of those venues that feels like a private world of its own. A 12 bedroom country estate, it’s got that perfect mix of laid back weekend-houseparty energy and polished wedding setting and we are absolutely stoked to have been added to their suppliers list for 2025 and beyond! For Lois and Tom’s August wedding, the brief was simple: no half measures, no background vibes, just a full tilt, glitter covered party from first track to last.

A first dance that actually sounded like them

Lois and Tom opened the night with Little Blue by Jacob Collier and Brandi Carlile. It’s not a typical wedding first dance, which is exactly why it worked. It felt intimate, honest and properly personal, and by the first chorus you could feel the room settle into that “ok, this is going to be a good one” mood. As soon as the last note landed, we flipped the switch from emotional to retro euphoria with Faithless’s Insomnia and the dancefloor did not empty once after that.

Sparkles, subs and sequins

These two work in TV production, so they know exactly how important sound, lighting and pacing are when you’re trying to keep a crowd locked in. They went all in on the production: our mirrorball package plus an upgraded high fidelity sound system with subs, so every chorus hit hard and the room looked like a disco snow globe.

The brief on music was “maximum fun, zero cheese, but don’t be scared to lean into the bangers.” So that’s what we did - a fast moving, high energy set that jumped between eras without ever losing the thread. Classic disco and funk, 00s R&B, euro-pop, a bit of pop punk, some singalong anthems and just enough chaos to keep everyone on their toes.

A cross-genre party that never took a breath

Once the formalities were out of the way, we went straight in with dancefloor-ready tunes: Give Me Everything, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, September, Young Hearts Run Free, Blame It On The Boogie - the sort of records that drag even the shy uncles off the edge of the room.

From there it was a proper gear-shift night. One minute it was Crazy In Love and 24K Magic, the next it was Get Busy, Low, We Found Love and Titanium with everyone jumping, shouting and hanging off each other. The furry pink hats and fez’s came out early and never went away, which tells you everything you need to know about the energy.

By the last hour we were firmly in “no one cares what time it is” territory: Livin’ On A Prayer, Everybody (Backstreet’s Back), Take A Chance On Me, I Write Sins Not Tragedies, Welcome To The Black Parade, Tiny Dancer and Love Story all getting full room singalongs.

And then, of course, the finish: The Best by Tina Turner, with Lois and Tom in the middle of the circle, everyone screaming the chorus at them. Perfect ending, zero notes.

Big tunes that went off

A few of the guaranteed destroyers from the night:

  • Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) - ABBA

  • Crazy In Love - Beyoncé feat. JAY-Z

  • Insomnia - Faithless

  • We Found Love - Rihanna

  • Titanium - David Guetta feat. Sia

  • Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) - Backstreet Boys

  • Love Story - Taylor Swift

  • The Best - Tina Turner

Curveballs that worked

The crowd were up for anything, so we could throw in a few left turns and get away with all of them:

  • We No Speak Americano - Yolanda Be Cool

  • Rosie Red - Maxïmo Park

  • Welcome To The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

  • I Write Sins Not Tragedies - Panic! At The Disco

  • Grace Kelly - Mika

These are the kind of tracks that can fall flat with the wrong crowd. Here they absolutely flew - proof that when you’ve got the right couple, the right guests and the right build up, you can get pretty adventurous.

Bespoke wedding DJ sets that actually feel bespoke

Like every RedLine wedding, Lois and Tom’s night was built completely around them - their tastes, their friends, their families and how they wanted the night to feel. No off-the-shelf playlist, no “standard wedding set”, just a properly thought through run of music that matched the venue, the production and the crowd.

If you’re planning a wedding at Eastwood Observatory and want a DJ who can actually use that dancefloor and sound system properly, we’d love to chat.
