WEDDING DJ FRIZZANTE, HACKNEY
Wedding DJ at Frizzante, Hackney City Farm - Alice & Ruari
Weddings don’t get more Hackney than this. A working city farm in the heart of East London, a musically obsessed couple, and a packed-out dancefloor that stayed full right until the very last beat. Alice & Ruari’s wedding at Frizzante at Hackney City Farm was a proper East London party – full of love, energy and one of the best soundtracks of the summer.
The Venue: Frizzante at Hackney City Farm
Nestled in the middle of Hackney, Frizzante is the kind of venue that feels hidden in plain sight. You’ve got real farm animals, rustic indoor spaces, and a laid-back vibe that somehow still delivers on charm and atmosphere. For couples who want something quirky and totally unpretentious but still absolutely unforgettable, this place delivers.
We were recently added to the PSL (preferred suppliers list) here, and if this night was anything to go by, we can’t wait to be back. The team were chilled but super professional, and the space transformed beautifully from a rustic dining setup to full-blown dancefloor.
The First Dance
Kicking things off was Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” – low-key, moody, and totally unexpected. It was stripped-back and intimate, a perfect reflection of Alice & Ruari’s style – romantic, but without the soppiness.
From there, we turned things up fast, and didn’t let up all night.
A Genre-Hopping, Floor-Filling Set
This was a musically adventurous wedding, and the couple were 100% here for it. The brief was clear: no cheese, no filler, but plenty of variety. And crucially – keep the floor packed from start to finish.
Mission accomplished.
There were disco classics (think Tina Charles and Sylvester), indie favourites (Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes), full-on party bangers (Groovejet, Uptown Funk), and a few leftfield moments that absolutely slapped – “Jesus Walks” by Kanye West being one of them.
Also, not one but two plays of “I’m Your Man” by Wham!, thanks to the presence of a very special guest – Andrew Ridgeley himself. No pressure then.
Lighting, Production & Vibes
For this one we rolled out:
Black DJ booth
Full wireless uplighter package
Moving head lighting
Haze machine
Massive mirrorball to top it all off
A dedicated lighting tech was on hand throughout the night to work the lights live with the music – meaning every drop, every chorus, every peak hit harder.
The result? A dancefloor that felt like a private club set – immersive, atmospheric, and designed to keep people moving all night long.
Big Tunes That Worked
“You Should Be Dancing” – Bee Gees
“Spillways” – Ghost
“Absolutely Everybody” – Vanessa Amorosi
“Common People” – Pulp
“Thunder Road” – Bruce Springsteen
Curveballs That Worked
“Jesus Walks” – Kanye West
“Danza Kuduro” – Don Omar
“Conga” – Gloria Estefan
“I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” – My Chemical Romance
Last Song of the Night
There’s only one way to close out a night like this – and Cher’s “Believe” absolutely delivered. Euphoric, emotional, and everyone – everyone – belting out every word.
