Danielle & Daniel’s Wedding at The Barn at Botley Hill, Surrey
Danielle and Daniel’s July ’25 wedding at The Barn at Botley Hill proved that midweek weddings can absolutely go off. This modern Surrey barn brings big views and an even bigger open-plan interior, and once the sun dipped, it became all about the dancefloor.
From early on, the energy was there. DJ Jon read the room quickly, nudged the pace up with confidence, and by the time the evening session landed it felt like a full-blown weekend party.
The Venue: The Barn at Botley Hill
The Barn at Botley Hill is a large, modern barn space with high ceilings, wide sightlines, and loads of room to build atmosphere. It is a venue that rewards proper production, especially once the room fills and the energy spreads.
Because of the size, subs were essential to give the low end real weight and keep the groove feeling physical on the floor. Extra moving heads and a mirrorball helped pull focus into the centre of the room, tightening the dancefloor and making the space feel more intimate once the lights dropped.
The First Dance
The first dance was I Am Yours – Andy Grammer, simple, warm, and unforced. Danielle and Daniel stayed close, guests gathered in tight, and it set the tone for a night that leaned into feel-good moments rather than formalities.
That track gave a perfect runway into the first uplift, easing people from watching into joining.
A Genre-Hopping, Floor-Filling Set
This was a proper danceathon, especially for a Tuesday. Once momentum was established, the set moved confidently across pop, R&B, dancehall, UK crossover, and pop-punk singalongs.
The key was pacing. Early floor-fillers to lock people in, rhythmic records to keep hips moving, and then big vocal moments to reset the room before pushing again. No long drops, no dead air, just consistent forward motion.
Lighting, Production & Vibes
The lighting and production did a lot of heavy lifting in a space this size.
Extra moving heads to create depth and movement across the room
Mirrorball to soften the space and pull focus onto the dancefloor
Subs to make sure the low end carried properly
Balanced sound coverage to keep energy even front to back
Once everything locked in, the room felt full, loud, and alive without ever tipping into chaos.
