WEDDING DJ ODO'S BARN, KENT - NATALIE & MIKE

Odo’s Barn wedding DJ

Natalie and Mike got in touch with us to be their wedding DJ Odo’s Barn, Kent. This is a venue we love to work with – original beam ceilings, great dance floor space and a lovely team who we liaised with prior to the event to make sure everything ran smoothly. The couple wanted all day support, which meant we were able to help with the sound and tech requirements for the ceremony (complete with alpacas delivering the rings) and speeches, making sure everybody could actually hear every word said. We then supported the wedding breakfast with carefully selected background music to sit alongside their wider music tastes.

The music for the reception was a really fun brief to work with, which essentially amounted to ‘rock classics’ and a good list of “must plays” and “must not plays”. The couple wanted an epic dance floor but didn’t want to be the centre of attention on the night, and ‘hold the dancefloor up’. No problem – by allowing guests to make requests on the night, they really invited the crowd to get involved (with a few Latin music requests thrown in for good measure).

First dance? ”No thank you” was the firm response from Natalie and Mike! We therefore decided to open the dancefloor with AC/DC’s You Shook Me all Night Long and closed it with another of the couple’s ‘must plays’, Lean on Me (Glee version).

Michael O’ Sullivan and Steve from Duntons were the photographers on the night and got involved in a pretty epic (and unexpected!) conga to Bon Jovi’s It’s My Life. Great fun, big congrats Natalie and Mike!

WEDDING DJ CLARIDGE'S, LONDON - JAMES & ZEENA

claridge’s wedding dj

James and Zeena booked us to be their wedding DJ Claridge’s, London and what an amazing day it was!

The day started with a ceremony in the spectacular Highgrove room, where Zeena was serenaded down the aisle by the fantastic Romy Madley Croft - the partner of one of the bridal party - and lead singer of Mercury Award winning band, The XX.

The drinks reception was up next and we were set up and ready to go in the stunning art deco themed Ballroom, situated next door to the Highgrove room. Claridge’s hand-prepared a number of signature cocktails for guests and kept stomachs happy with trays of sliders, hummous, curried chicken skewers and Smoked Duck Crispy Wontons. Yum!

After the entrees were done and many cocktails were drunk it was time for the first dance. James and Zeena went for an absolute classic; Jump by The Pointer Sisters and followed it up with the more modern but equally brilliant, Blinding Lights by The Weeknd. James and Zeena had an amazing choreographed routine for their first dance and were then joined by James’s daughters to dance to the second song of the night, which was a track chosen by them.

This was a mixed nationality wedding with an English groom and a Jordanian bride, and the party was predictably wild! The rest of the night comprised of a broad playlist taking in everything from modern pop through to Arabic party tunes, 50s rock and roll dance numbers and a healthy smattering of wedding classics from across the decades.

Thanks go out to Claridge’s for truly living up to their reputation as one of London’s premier wedding venues and to the guests for keeping the dancefloor packed for the entire night.
