Wedding DJ at Claridge’s – James & Zeena’s High-Energy, Cross-Cultural Party in the Heart of Mayfair
Claridge’s isn’t just a venue — it’s the venue. Iconic, opulent, and unmistakably London, this legendary Mayfair hotel brings serious weight to any event. So when James & Zeena asked RedLine DJs to handle the music for their big day, we knew this would be a special one.
With a room full of music lovers, a guest list that spanned the globe, and a couple who were all about bringing the energy, this Claridge’s wedding brought everything you want from an unforgettable London reception: elegance, unpredictability, and a dancefloor that did not let up.
Romy from The xx – Live in the Ceremony
Let’s start with a moment. Zeena walked into her ceremony in the Highgrove Room to a live performance from Romy Madley Croft (yep, Romy from The xx), who’s a close friend of the couple. That alone tells you the tone of the day: thoughtful, stylish, and entirely bespoke. When one of your favourite artists is singing you down the aisle, it sets the vibe pretty high from the outset.
A Ballroom Made for Dancing
After the ceremony, we moved through to Claridge’s iconic Ballroom for cocktails, canapés, and a lighting transformation. We installed a full production setup for this one – flown mirror ball, wireless uplighting, haze, 6kW of crystal-clear sound, and a full suite of moving head lighting controlled live by one of our techs. The space looked and sounded like a high-end club, but still felt elegant and refined.
First Dance Energy? Off the Scale
No slow number here. James and Zeena kicked off their first dance with “Jump” by The Pointer Sisters, before sliding straight into “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd. The moment the groom’s daughters joined the couple on the dancefloor halfway through? Unreal. Everyone was up and involved within seconds – a real celebration, not a spectator moment.
A Genre-Spanning, Globally Inspired Set
With an English groom and a Jordanian bride, the set had to match the crowd – and we love a challenge like that. We built a seamless journey through disco, 50s rock & roll, pop classics, indie dance, power ballads, and Arabic party bangers, all mixed for maximum energy and connection.
Some of the highlights from the night:
“You Make My Dreams (Come True)” – Hall & Oates
“Ya Tabtab” – Nancy Ajram
“Uptown Funk” – Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars
“Dancing in the Moonlight” – Toploader
“La La La” – Massari
“Proud Mary” – Tina Turner
“Leilet Hob” – Amr Diab
“Shut Up and Dance” – Walk the Moon
“I Wanna Dance with Somebody” – Whitney Houston
Everything was tailored to reflect the couple’s tastes and background. This wasn’t just a playlist – it was a story told through music, designed to make everyone feel part of it.
Final Track: All Together Now
After hours of packed-floor madness, we brought it all home with “Hey Jude” by The Beatles. One of those proper arms-around-each-other, top-of-your-lungs moments. The lights came down, the mirrorball spun slowly overhead, and the voices filled the Ballroom. Couldn’t have ended it better.
